This policy explains what personal information Dan Ryan Photography (“I”, “me”) collects through danryanphotography.ie, why, and what your rights are. I’m a sole photographer based in Kilkenny, Ireland, and I’m the data controller for this website. Questions? Email info@danryanphotography.ie.

What I collect and why

The legal basis is the contract between us (orders and bookings), my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries, and legal obligations (tax records).

Cookies

Some cookies are needed to make the site work: keeping items in your basket, completing checkout securely and protecting the site from spam and attacks. These are always on.

With your permission, I also use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they look at and how they found the site. It sets cookies (named _ga) that last up to two years and are not used for advertising. Google Analytics only runs if you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press Reject, or ignore the banner, nothing is sent to Google. Your choice is remembered for six months.

You can change your mind at any time: change cookie settings.

I don’t use advertising cookies.

Who else handles your data

I only share what’s needed with: Stripe (payments), An Post (delivery address for your parcel), SiteGround (website hosting, EU servers) and, only if you accept analytics cookies, Google (Google Analytics visit statistics). I never sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.

Photos of you

I will only use photos of you in my portfolio or on social media with your agreement. You can ask me to remove any image of you at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, or object to how it’s used. Email me and I’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how I handle your data, you can contact the Data Protection Commission.
